Our name is changing — but our values, our team, and our commitment remain the same.
Since its founding in 1976 by Lee Alpert and Michael Mink, our firm has grown through partnerships grounded in mutual respect and a shared dedication to excellence. In 1982, Gary Barr joined, expanding the firm’s strength in litigation, transactional law, and government affairs.
In 2007, Adam Grant brought new leadership through a strategic merger, further elevating the firm’s reputation across the San Fernando Valley and beyond.
That same spirit of progress continues today.
In 2021, Natela Shenon — founder of Shenon Law — became a shareholder, bringing entrepreneurial energy and deep litigation experience to the firm. Her addition marked the beginning of our era as Grant | Shenon.
We are proud to officially include the name of David M. Almaraz, a valued shareholder and trusted legal strategist, in our firm’s identity.
David is a UC Berkeley and USC Law graduate with over 20 years of experience in litigation and trial practice. His areas of focus include real estate, landlord-tenant disputes, complex business litigation, and trade secret matters. Known for his thoughtful, client-centered approach, David operates across both federal and state courts with unmatched diligence and clarity.
David has been a shareholder of the firm and a driving force in its litigation practice — and now, with the evolution of our name, that leadership is recognized publicly:
Our new name honors where we’ve been — and signals where we’re going.
What hasn’t changed is our mission:
To deliver exceptional legal counsel with trust, clarity, and strength to individuals, families, and businesses throughout California.
Please join us in celebrating this new chapter in our story — and in congratulating David on this well-earned recognition.
With gratitude,
The Partners at Grant | Shenon | Almaraz
